    Alan has been a marketing leader and advisor at several enterprise technology companies. Prior to Corelight, he was the VP of marketing at Cloudera from 2012 through 2016. From 2002 to 2009 he was VP of product marketing at Riverbed where he was the first employee of the company. Both companies had very successful IPOs with multi-billion dollar valuations. He also advised Meraki on their entry into the enterprise market in 2010 prior to their acquisition by Cisco for $1.2B. Over his career, he has had a variety of roles in marketing, finance & operations, mostly at early stage companies. He also serves on the Board of Directors at We Care Solar, a non-profit in Berkeley, and was a trustee of the Berkeley School for 10 years in the 2000s. He has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
